As a follow up to the 13th Regional Meeting of National EFA Planners held in February 2013, this particular technical workshop will serve as a venue for countries to additional discuss and fine-tune requirements in terms of the content, methodology of the national EFA 2015 review and reporting format, and the fundamentals of which are suggested in the circulated Guidelines. The course will also discuss disaggregated data evaluation and indicator reporting for an in-depth understanding of disparity in education.
The overarching objective of the workshop is to enhance nation capacity to undertake systematic reviews associated with national EFA progress with the aim to develop policy options for acceleration associated with EFA and provide inputs for nationwide and international debates on the post-2015 education agenda.
The workshop aims to:
Provide an opportunity for country teams to share and learn from each other about processes presently in place and plans made for undertaking the National EFA 2015 Evaluation.
Introduce practical methods and processes to carry out quantitative and qualitative assessment of national EFA progress plus strategies and identifying key elements that needs to be considered in the post-2015 education agenda, and discuss planned indicator confirming and disaggregated trend analysis.
Share plus seek feedback on the proposed format and content of the national plus regional EFA reports.
While the National EFA 2015 Review will be government-led, it should be undertaken in a participatory manner with involvement of NGOs, CSOs and other relevant stakeholders. The development partners are encouraged to cooperate and assistance in this review process where appropriate. In Asia-Pacific, countries are expected in order to submit to UNESCO Bangkok their own national EFA reports by April 2014, which will be synthesized in the form of a regional EFA review report.
